Wouldn't be surprised if people bought 'em, too.

what's interesting about this is it has a hole on one side......any thoughts? I thought the holes on the magazines were no perforations (cartridge counter holes) in the sides, four holes in each side, five holes in each side, and six holes in each side. Not just one!

Just find the magazine strange. IS it just a armalite bottom plate? The one hole is original FYI Anyone else have one that has the one hole?

You talking about the same mag in the link ali059? The only hole I see in all those pics is the hole for the mag catch.

Yep same one look close as it has that is in the same side as the hole for mag catch center rib 3/4 of the way down......

OK, now is see it. Can't really tell if it is a hole or not.

for sure a hole!

maybe somebody had a rivet in the hole to limit capacity... to make it legal in a state that limits magazine capacity??

Or maybe it is the super-duper rare prototype tactical speed-hole

no magazine is worth that price, in my opinion anyway

Holy crap...  I have about thirty of those, most still in the 4-pack wrapper, so always checking to see what they go for. That price might just be a *tad* optimistic...

any pictures of yours that have a armalite bottom plate with the small hole......

I am just trying to figure this one out!!

I assume you are not talking about the hole in the Armalite base plate, but the small hole on the side of the mag...  Nope, not on any of my open ones, looks drilled to me, not sure why though and don't see how that makes it worth his price

They are not worth that, & he was just looking for a sucker.

Ended up with it for a OK price, figured it out i THINK! IS this a early mag just after the waffle mag, I found this link on the web!

So how many have one like it?

THanks!!

Only have one, & IIRC I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 for it.

Wanted it for my early mag collection. Actually not much of a collection, just a few of the less common mags.

Colt 30rd mag with the emerald follower & #'d body
circle 1 Colt 20rd mag
numerous .223 marked Colt 20 rd mags

I just have not been able to find a waffle mag at the same time I'm feeling rich enough to part with that kind of money for a mag. In other words, I'm too cheap!

But it's "much more rarer...".  It's gotta be good!

Man, it still went for more than I thought. As I posted earlier, I have a bunch of them, most still sealed in the four pack (all my packages are dated 4/64 and went to the Air Force). I'm going to go play his game on gunbroker... Just have to wait until I get back to the mags on the Mainland as I can't have them in Hawaii...

In Canada, it's acceptable to use a pop rivet to block magazine capacity.

I got quite a few AR-10 mags from a source in Canada some years ago that had rivets installed, and all I had to do was drill 'em out.

Well I paid about 30 dollars from him on it plus a 601 upper and lots of retro parts nice guy!

As for one in the package I would buy a few off ya if the price is right.

The hole is too far down to limit the magazine capacity more then one or two rounds. It is not in a place that you could get a rivet in. Plus I think it still has the original gray on it I assume due to the wear. The hole still has the gray on the edges and inside so I think that it is factory

Oh, glad you got it for $30. I was looking at the relisted price (I think it was $70) but it didn't sell either. I've had a hard time determining value for these as they are hidden between the waffle and "Colt .223" marked mags, most people just lump them in with all the old 20 rounders.
