my "retro" is a 20" SP1.
not sure what it weighs, but it is several pounds lighter than my 11.5" carbine

My R604 clone is 7.4 lbs. loaded with 20 and without a sling.

What are you using to weigh them???
I ask because bathroom scales (the only scale that most of us have) are not accurate enough and most don't show anything below 20#... |

I dunno, probably around 6 pounds with a loaded 30rd mag and fiberlite stock. Little more with aluminum stock.

I actually did that here a while back. The postmaster here is a friend. I had to take it in two trips, however. First the upper, then the Lower. It was a flattop with an aluminum freefloat handguard and a 18" heavy barrel though. Can't remember what the lower was, but the upper was 4 lbs. 9 oz. |

Colt A2 7 lb 14 oz 607 6 lb 12 oz SP1 Carbine 6 lb 10 oz all with an empty 20 round mag on a "Go Postal" scale |

I weighed a Colt 607 once, seems it was just over 5 and a half pounds if I recall correctly.

I should add, my 607 clone is a 16" barrel, so it would be a bit heavier. Interesting to note, switching uppers between it and the SP1 carbine, the SP1 is 2 oz lighter than the 607.

I used a digital fish scale. My 7.4 is really 7 pounds, 6 ounces.

I will bring my wrestling scales home from school this weekend and weigh my 20" rifle and 16" carbine. Now both of these builds are currently on A2 lowers, until Nodak opens up a run. How much weight difference is there between an A1 and A2 lower?
I do know both are a lot lighter than my Colt 6920 and CMMG A4 with all the other stuff on them

Mine are all under 7 lbs unloaded, but in my limited experience, the weights in AKAR's chart seem a little low...

I've been building a patio for the wife over the past few weekends. Each day has been spent with a 15 pound pic, big shovel, bags of cement, wheel barrels of hard Arizona dirt, etc. It's the never ending project.....was goofing around the other night with my new P mags and decided to pull the A1 rifle out to see how they looked....I nearly threw the rifle into the ceiling it felt so light!!!!!!! LOLOL!!!!

I had the same experience after helping a buddy with an engine swap. Nothing seemed heavy for a while after putting a V8 into a Fiero.
