does any one remember these they swiveled to suit the shooter and couldbe used as rifle or pistol?

This thing has to be on of the ugliest guns ever built. That doesn't mean that it might not be a perfectly good gun but, dang it's ugly. I always thought it looked like a bullpup that never got finished, just put together enough to see if it would work.

Didn't BM originally design that weapon hoping to get a military contract for "survival" kit weapons? Or some such thing.

The original weapon (not sure whether it was designed by Gwinn or not) was developed by Colt chambered in .221 Remington Fireball. It was tested in the late 1960s-early 1970s (the USAF Armament Lab report on it was published in 1971). There were apparently a small number purchased by the USAF under the designation GUU-4/P.
