I would guess that it's real just because of the haphazard look - I mean, the checkerboard above it looks like 'doodling' with a knife, the kind of thing that a bored GI would do. Also, anyone who knows anything about ARs knows that green furniture wouldn't need a 'date' on it to date it, so why bother? As a matter of simple logic, I say it's real. If it's not, someone needs to be bitch slapped.
