Is there any law against putting a short bipod on an ar pistol? Not grip pod, just a plain ol bi pod or even monopod for you know, function.....

Something like this:

I would check with someone in your state. That said, Ruger sell this so maybe.

Bipods are good to go.

seems to me the bipod/monopod would fall under misuse, just like the braces.

Good to go as long as you aren't using a Grip Pod or this

A bipod is a bipod, it's not a forward grip

A bipod is fine. The monopod, at least the one you link to, would be iffy at best. Maybe with a 5round magazine you could argue the point. But your not going to convince anyone it is used as monopod if your magazine is longer than it is. At that point I would wager it would be considered a forward grip.

As mentioned above, my Ruger Charger came with a bipod, that's fine. Thompson Contenders have also used bipods for years, no issues.

Anything that can be classified as a VFG is NOT OK on a pistol unless it's over 26" OAL. And I'd check your state laws as well.

I have 2 picatinney mounted bipods.
I have added short magpul picatinneys
on all of my carbines, AR pistols, 1022's,
etc, so I can use them where ever I
want them.

Pistol + Bi-pod
AR pistol is still a pistol.

I love that idea - a bipod for a pistol.
Good thinking.
