[ARCHIVED THREAD] - How to get foam pad over/on a pistol buffer tube?

Just received my PBT & foam pad in the mail. The guy from exile machine said to use lots of hand sanitizer cause it just slips right on and the sanitizer will evap.

Well it does not slip right on no matter how much sanitizer I use. It's about half way on and was a bitch to get it that far.

Any other options? The foam seems to be smaller in diameter than the RRA PBT, so that's not making things any easier.

Other options?

I'm thinking of just cutting off the foam and wrapping it in para cord but I'd like to give the foam another go before giving up.

Use hair spray. Same as used on motorcycle grips. Cup your hand over the end of the two tubes and pressure will form as you push it on and it will slide on real easy. If the buffer is installed, cover the drain hole with electrical tape to facilitate the seal.

I just use a little CLP.
Since that is what I use on the gun, it is going to get it on it anyway.

Does anyone have a walk-thru for wrapping the tube in a cool looking paracord design?
