Are there uppers that don't require a buffer tube available. Do these exist for 7.62 x 39 pistol barrels?

Yes, there are uppers that require no buffers
- ZM/YHM/Para system
- RRA PDS http://www.rockriverarms.com/images/products/rra_lp2110v.pdf

Neither come in 7.62x39 from the factory but likely a handy smith could do the conversion.

There were some prototype OA-93's in 7.62x39 floating around.

A couple were in the EE a while back.

Oly caught a lot of flak from the shooting community since all the cheap 7.62x39 steel core ammo effectively became

'armor piercing pistol ammunition'.

I'm unsure if the RRA piston pistol is available just as the upper.  It would be nice since it's on my list.
