Update with latest photos of build in progress. 10-10-10

Didn't even know I needed one of these things until I started looking at this picture thread a few months ago. The last straw was shooting a friends AR pistol at the range. What a fun gun to shoot and I knew I'd have to scrape up the money and assemble my own. Already had some AR parts laying around along with a spare optic to get me started. Thanks to the inspiration and technical info from fellow AR15.Com members I was able to pull this off. Brain eating Zombie's beware!

Good catch. The comp isn't tighten down yet in the photo's. Couldn't get my AR tool on it because of the rail. Found my tool box and a 5/8ths wrench in the mess of moving and got that clocked correctly now. I have used these PWS FSC556 on other AR's and they worked pretty good. After shooting my friends 7.5in. Pistol I realized I needed something to tame the muzzle blast a little. Also you'll notice that the bolt catch lever is missing. Spike's lower parts kit was missing the roll pin that attaches the bolt lever,
which kept me from finishing it up and heading to the range

Looks great!!! I'm kinda heading in the same direction with my .50 beowulf build, same rail and piston system. I've gotta say though this cracks me up, a Beta on an AR-pistol?? HAhaha. It's such overkill man. Sweet, sweet overkill. I have the clear one on my carbine M&P-15 and LOVE it.

Thanks edp07 but overkill? That's kind of funny coming from a man building a Beowulf .50 AR pistol . With the bunch of shooter's I hangout with I'm the only one that doesn't have a couple Browning .50's and 10 loaded Beta-mags with a replacement barrel or two sitting on the shooting bench. They said "you can come shooting with us but you have to put a Beta mag on that thing". Besides every zombie movie I have ever watched, what happens? The humans run out of bullets and get eaten . Do post-up pics of your Beowulf .50 when it's complete, sounds very cool!
