How big of a "knob", if any, can you add to the end of the buffer tube on an AR pistol so it doesn't dig into your shoulder?

None, Unless it's a rubber cane tip...Then 3In diameterseems to be fine according to ATF...still LMAO

Send them a letter.  I'm interested to see if they will retract their previous letter or put a stipulation on the allowable diameter.
