Go easy, there may be an answer I didn't think of

Its an Olympic Arms pistol... the recoil spring is above the barrel.

... even still.

If it's a piston upper, where does the bolt go out-of-battery?

The OA-93 semi-auto carrier is the top one.

No (or nonconventional) carrier.  Plenty of room.

... Interesting.

So none of that protrudes past the aft end of the upper in battery whatsoever?

ETA: So it begs to ask, do any other aftermarket manufacturers make a similar carrier to the OA-93 semi-auto carrier

Here's the manual that has some drawings of the mechanism.

ZM Weapons sells a buffer-less complete gun.  Member RCDCU (? or something close to this) built his own bufferless piston that is SSSSWWWWEEEEEEEEETTTTT!

Thanks for posting that PDF.  That is a pretty innovative design, I always thought it was a piston system.

If that is the movie I think it is, the pistol had a small receiver extension on it like the one attached to the folding stock. It would allow the longer carrier with the sear trip to move further back out of the rec.

Quarterbore has a good description on this pistol.

The LR300/Para-Ordnance TTR also has a shortened carrier that doesn't require a receiver extension.

Some member here made a  much better looking tubeless pistol, not sure where the thread is though.

It was side cocking and I believe he painted it green.

I remember when the OA-93 pistol came out. I wanted one real bad. Never found one till sometime after the CB took effect.
