Was hoping on getting some advice on how to deal with CMMG Inc regarding a MK3 Lower I purchased from them.  I bought an MK3 lower from a local FFL during the California BANIC scare and waiting about 6 months before I could get my upper from CMMG.  When I put my rifle together, I found that the DPMS parkerized mags I bought did not fit the rifle.  Took me a while, but I finally found some GEN3 LR20 (308) Magpul Pmags.  Those fit a bit better but still had a good amount of resistance inserting and withdrawing the magazine.

I contacted CMMG about the issue and they said the magazines should fall freely from the rifle when released.  I sent in my lower for evaluation and they tried to send it back after a month saying nothing was wrong.  I am still fighting with them regarding the lower.  Has anyone else had issues with CMMG products?  I am new to rifles.  I didn't have any issues with my Windham AR15 and thought that CMMG was a reputable company.  Has anyone else had issues with them.

Thanks

I have mixed feelings about CMMG.  When the product is right its great.  When it is not, it is a huge pain.  I bought a MK3 a few months ago as my first .308 patern AR.  It came with a defective barrel and a gouge in the receiver.  The barrel had a a dip about an inch in from the muzzle that was clearly visible to the eye.  It would keyhole certain bullet weights and shoot others fantastically.  I contacted CMMG and they agreed it was incorrect and payed for shipping to be fixed.  I got it back about 2 1/2 weeks later which wasn't bad considering it fell during two holidays.  They gave me a new lower to replaced the gouged one and a new barrel.  Problem...   The new barrel had the same defect.  They had a bad batch of barrels and didn't check the new one they put on.  So I had to send it back again.  They put a new barrel that wasn't defective on it and made it right.  Turn around time a couple business days.  Rifle is now correct and functions great.

About six months ago I bought a .22 upper from them.  It jammed every other round.  I didn't want to send it in.  So I tried the stickies in the rimfire section to modify the rifle.  I polished the moving surfaces internally and now I haven't had a jam in about 500 rounds of crappy ammo.  It shoots very accurately too.

These two experiences are dissapointing in that it took so much effort to get both pieces to run right from a "brand new"  status.  When I spend my money on a product I expect it to be correct from the beginning.  They stood behind their product, but I would steer clear from them if you don't want a hassle.

Did you have any magazine issue?  Which mags worked for you? I'm not happy about how they dealt with the situation either.  Was talking to one person in charge of technical support and he gave every indication they would replace the lower and the last minute they just shipped it back to me unannounced, like they were trying to sneak it through.

From the reviews, they seemed like a good company.  Bad experience for me too.
