While I am pretty comfortable with the AR-15-type rifles/carbines, the same cannot be said WRT its bigger brother, the AR-10-type. I recently acquired an LMT 308 rifle that I want to convert from the standard VLTOR collapsible butt stock to the Magpul PRS stock.

With that thought in mind, I have three questions: What parts do I need? Are they different than the similar AR-15-type components? Will standard AR-10-type parts work, or do I have to go to LMT?

I dont have any experience with LMT 308, but I do have a DPMS 308 with a PRS stock.

The PRS stock requires a regular AR15 buffer tube...but the buffer and buffer spring are
308 specific...but the AR10 and  DPMS are not the same if I'm not mistaken....

As far as the Stock, the Magpul runs a .308 specific version. As for the buffer and spring you CAN use an AR10 buffer and spring for any dpms .308 variant. In-fact, its recommended.
The reason you cannot use an AR15 PRS is the fact that the charging handle on the AR10's and variants are longer and will come into contact with the cheek rest of the smaller stock.

A MagPul MOE fixed stock works well on an LMT MWS...  Get a rifle receiver extension (buffer tube), rifle buffer, and spring = good to go...
