THis is the size hole the 334 gr JHP leaves on the way out. I see no need for anything else; Hole was about the size of my fist.
Of course if I was going for bear, I would go bigger and solid. Doc |

Doc Nice. I've got a little over 100 of those, factory loaded already. They certainly appear to do the job.

For handloads, I really like these over LilGun:

First two shots were the bottom of the "T", then 3 more at 100 yards, with a 3 power scope. Bill |

My favorite is the 385 grain Remington. The spitzer shape allows it to feed more reliably than anything else and they are very accurate as well. I also like the Hornady 350 grain XTP.

majority of my shooting is with 334 grn and 325 grn projectiles......but I do have most everything from 275 up to 600 grn butt puckers.......I call them that because after shooting my 334 grn loads, most peoples butt puckers at the thought of the recoil from the 600 grainers.....

I like the 300gr FTX or Leverevolution bullets over lil gun, max grains. They shoot 5 inches high at 100 and are back on at 200. I shot a 3.75 inch group at 200 using a non magnifying holosight. With a magnified scope it would be even better.
My second favorite is the Sierra JHP. I max out the lil gun for them and I have shot them into oak logs and recovered them, the mushroom is impressive. I have not taken a deer with it yet, but hopefully I can get one this year with it. Two if I want to do a bullet function test with both bullets. |
