I have some components stockpiled, I have (100) 300 gr Rem HP, and (50) Barnes 300 TTSX, (100) pcs of Brass, and a pound each of RL-7 and Lil Gun.
It was nice getting to see Marty again too, but he was pretty Busy, and I had to get back for work so the meeting was brief.
I still have the stupid grin on my face, Can't wait to light it off

Want to make that stupid grin even bigger?  Take a 5.56 round and put it in your magazine.  Point the muzzle down and chamber it.  It's been at least 7 years of doing that and I still giggle like a school girl every time I see the results.
Damn I'm easily entertained.

That engraving looks nice.  When did he start doing that?   None of mine have anything on them saying who made them.

I will have to do the 5.56 thing.
I had Marty do that for me as a Special Request
I told him that I wanted ".458 SOCOM and by Teppo Jutsu"
or "Teppo Jutsu .458 SOCOM" in what ever script, font or phrasing he
thought would look best.
Marty, being Marty, did not disappoint .
I don't know how much extra trouble it was, But he will certainly customize
them however you ask, I think it look Classier and a little less cartoonish
than the RRA script (Not that their's looks bad, I just wanted mine differrent)
He should have that saved for Future Uppers.

He was working on something different for a coating as well.

Getting some good loads Here is my best Barnes TSX 300 gr load so far 39.0 gr RL-7

Best Rem 300 HP load so far 41.5 gr but it is marking the brass ans 42.0 was rougher in the brass and it was opening up the group I will load 41.1 and ease up to 41.5 to find the best load

The most promising is the Barnes 300 TTSX 34.9 gr RL-7 I had (2) 2 shot groups touching but i had the rifle shift and bugger the group, but I will definitely Revisit That one

It was a Great day at the range, The Hammer got much appreciation from other shooters, I put about 50 rounds down range.
and now the right shoulder is sore but it is a "Good kind of a hurt".
Now I have to pick up the Leupold Vari X 3 1.5x5x20 and the rings (I have one on the Super Express and it is a great scope) and will probably go with the Warne rings.

The thing that surprised me the most was the recoil difference from the TSX and TTSX to the Rem 300 HPs you know when you light off one of the HPs.

Thank you Marty for a Great Firearm it was very much worth the wait (and lets face it I have been waiting since the beginning)

yes,  its pretty good 50 to 75 yds for my 458 socom.  it holds zero well.  my 458 is a RRA mid length.  groups start to open at 100yds i find it hard to hold steady at 4x 100 yds.  maybe my eyes just suck.  im prolly going to upgrade to a leupold VX7 2.5-10x45mm this summer after deer season depending on how the monarch 4x african works for deer.  if i nail the shots all season i wont.

I put a 16x Vortex on it just to hit stuff at 400 yards...

It held up for 20 or so shots, then I went back to the Aimpoint.
