To me, a 16in 556 is louder than my 18in. 7.62 What do you guys think? I'm trying to decide between a 18in Fal or a 16in LAR-8 midlength. It will have a FH, not a brake. After having both 18's and 16's, personally I'd go with an 18" tube in .308. Less blast & BS and a little more velocity. Besides, you won't really notice the extra 2". |

When I had a 16" .308 Saiga I could easily tell the muzzle blast was a lot louder than .308 in a Garand or Rem 700. I wear puffs + muffs at the range and I could hear the diff.
