I have made up my mind on my first build. It is going to be a heavy barrell varmint hunting upper chambered in 6PPC. I was wondering who makes the best bolts for the 7.62x39. I have heard Colt is hard to beat, but I am having a hard time finding a new one. Also who makes the best 6.5 Grendel mags?. Thanks in advance.

LMT makes an enhanced 7.62x39 bolt. It's not on their website, you have to call and ask about it. It was a popular item about 6 months ago when CSS had run out of bolts for their 6.5's. They might have some left, they are nice but spendy.

ETA

6.5 Grendel mags are all made by C-Products. 44mag.com is the cheapest place to get them.

Does any of the bolts for the 7.62x39 come chrome plated? If not is there someplace that can do it for me?

The LMT Enhanced is hard chromed. http://www.lewismachine.net/product.php?p=145&cid=7&session=eb103fc9770fed81fbabe6d2e08e1d48
That's the 6.8 version. You have to call to order the 7.62x39 version

I understand you run a MGI lower, have you ever been able to get a standard lower and mag to function correctly? What setup/products work best together?

Yep, I used the "Frankenmags" made by Gtec and USA.  Then later DPMS reproduced copies of the Frankenmags after the 94 ban expired.  Had some of those too.  The 7.62x39 setup is my favorite and I wanted higher capacity so I went with the MGI setup so I could use 75 round drums.  I never bought any of the C-Products 7.62 mags since I had already switched over to the AR-47 and then the MGI system by the time the C-Products mags came out.
BTW, I noticed your bolts after I had already gotten a few of the LMT's.  I've had the LMT's for several years now.  Would be interested in trying one of the ARPerfomance ones although I do see that the warranty doesn't apply to short barrels....I'm running full auto with 7.5" uppers.  Although I have yet to break an LMT and they probably wouldn't warrant what I'm doing either.

Here are some old vid's using the Frankmags on registered receiver lowers.
Those vids were taken at least 5 or 6 years ago.  We weren't using LMT bolts in the vids.  Probably Colt or DPMS or Model1's.  Heavy buffers and Wolf ammo.  We shoot the cheapest stuff we can get which is usually steel cased.
