I am looking at doing a 6.8 build and deciding on a 16" mid vs. 18". What is the difference in velocities btwn these 2? Also, whose barrels are you using? What type of accuracy are you finding?

I've got 18 inch mid-length 6.8, but do not have a 16 inch -I did shoot a box of the Hornady factory (110 gr. BTHP/WC) ***16 Bbl. ammo thru the chronograph and came up with the same velocity as was mention on the box of 2550 fps, however this was achieved through my 18 inch barrel, not on 16 inch as they claim? The barrel is a Wilson. With just about all the ammo I've shot with this rifle, it will shoot 1 - 1/34  groups at 100 yards/meters.

Thanks for the info.  Anyone else try 16 vs. 18"?

I have an 18" Noveske.  Could not be happier with the barrel.

I have a Model 1 20" that I have had for 2 yrs.+ and just put together a Pac-Nor SS Match 16" middy. Get velocities of about 2600-2650 fps w/various 110 gr bullets in the 20". Have had only limited time with the 16" but getting around 2450 fps with 110 gr Hornady HP's and around 2475 fps with 115 gr Hornady HPBT.The HP's are flatbase and therefore get a bit less velocity.
