The guy (John) at Noveske just told me that if he were building a 16" gun ( as I am) that he would use a Vortex rather than a KX3.  He said that the kx3's were for short barrelled guns.  My question is... How could a flash hider designed for a short barrelled gun be less effective on a longer gun.  There's only $25.00 difference, and I'd like to buy the better of the two of course.

i believe its that the KX3 is not a better flash supressor compared to the vortex, it was designed to also improve reliability with the shorter gas systems and direct the muzzle blast away from the shooter.

The vortex is designed only to help eliminate the flash which it does very well.

I have seen pics of a muzzle flash from the Noveske and the flame was about 3 feet long!
