OK . first of all I dumped the pennies .
Then I spent next day driving around trying
to scratch up some ammo . I found 1 stinking
box of 334gr JHP locally for $38
WTF , I had to buy it because I wanted to shoot
the damn thing . So off to the range I went today .
Of course it had to be crappy day with snow/sleet
but fuck it , I'm going no matter what .
I cant set up on the 100yd line because the pipes for the
target stands are filled with ice , so I set up at 75 and fired
7 rounds out of the precious 20 I have .
Hmmm , that's not too bad for the first time out with a new
to me weapon I'm thinking . Considering that it's snowing so hard
I can hardly see the target through the scope magnified snow , but
damn . I can see the big orange blobs on the Visishot . This aint no
friggin 22
OK , now I want to see what these big slow bullets will do
to something other then paper . Now if you look real close
you will see a Locust tree that fallen from the top of the berm .
It's about 14" in diameter and is pretty much alive and Locust
if you know it is a dense stringy wood . So loaded up 6 more
rounds ( Can't shoot it all in case Zombies attack before I get more ammo )
and shoot the truck of the tree .
Yeah I know its a crappy pic , but I was too damn cold by now to
walk back and get the camera after going out to retrieve the target frame.
But let me tell ya . Two week ago I put 200+ rounds of 62gr 855 into
this tree trying to cut it in half . None of those round made it through
center of the trunk and out the other side .
Not only did the big HP's make it out the other side , they also
blew out a crater of wood you stick 2 fists in
I was definitely surprised by the amount of energy this low
pressure round carries down range , and how much fun it
was to shoot .
This is gonna get real expensive if I don't start reloading
