I have a Dillion 550 and would like to set it up to load 458 SOCOM. This is not a Dillion supported set up but I know some of the people on this form are loading these on the Dillon 550B. If you are can you tell me what you use for the following.

Shellplate
Locator Buttons
Powder Funnel

Thanks

Shellplate- .308 or .45 ACP
Locator Buttons- .308 or .45 ACP
Powder Funnel- You can try the .45 ACP or .45 Long Colt funnel.

Thanks

Powder drop die- You'll most likely need the large diameter die used for .50 AE, same as the .50 Beowulf uses.
In any event, if you call Dillon direct, I'll bet the good folks out in AZ will know exactly what you need!

I think there's a mistake on the shell plate. The SOCOM uses a larger base than the Beowulf. The 7.62X39 will be too small, the SOCOM's base is the same as the .30-06/.308/.45 ACP.

That is what the told me at Dillon, the guy had to go and ask someone.  I though it sounded a little small also, but they said that is the one they sell in the 458 socom conversion.
Hopefully everything will be here in a week or so and I can find out for sure

UPDATE>>>>

7.62x39 shell plate is way too small for 458 socom brass.  Will have to call and see what next step is, but do not let them sell you a 7.62x39 shell plate
