I was a little worried about that when I mounted it but it worked out ok.
I've got plenty of eye relief and it doesn't come to close when I fire it.
The RRB I got helps so much with the recoil it doesn't fly back as fast as it did with out it.

Thanks, hadSpec's ? ok...
Bell and Carlson(stock), stone coat finish on it that I put on myself.
alostyr forearm (thanks to stingray)
AA retro muzzlebrake kit (which surprisingly wasn't hard to put on at all.
Rock River one piece scope mount with a Buckridge (optronics) 6-24 x42 IR adj Obj scope.
MGI Rate/recoil reducer , John Mansen recoil pad.
Badger ordanace charge handle
Built on a stag lower with a jard 3# single stage trigger.

I've got a couple tango down rail covers coming that I'm going to coat with the same stuff I put on the stock.I'll repost a pic when I get the rest done.

wulf50guy...thanks. How do you like that new forearm. I have the stock handguards on and the bottom pops out when I take it to the range. If I recall, the top and and bottom of the Alostyr screws together, thus eliminating it getting loose?

I love them.
They are solid as a rock. And you are correct they snap in just like standard guards but they do have 6 allen screws locking them together. There's no way they will come out or move.
And I definitely would suggest using one of the handguard removal tools when installing.
Even with one these things are so tight even with out the screws you wouldn't beleive.

They are solid enough that you wouldn't think twice about mounting a bipod mount or vertical grip.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for some good replacements.

How do you like that TDI bipod? Do you have a Harris to compare it to? Why did you put a thumbhole stock on it instead of a normal pistol grip/A2

Actually, I tossed the TDI last week.
It was actually A little shakey, just felt like something waw wrong with it. Legs didn't feel like they would lock in solid.
I replaced it with a Samco swivel mount and a Shooters ridge Rock Mount bi-pod.
Looks almost identical to a Harris, and it was only about $35.

Took it to the range yesterday to see how it did and it worked great.
As for the stock well, I've always liked that type of stock. Don't know why.
Just feels like therre's a little more there to grip on to.And it gives the gun a little more balanced front to rear weight.
And I built it to be a range/target rifle. If I was building it for a more tactical or daily use weapon I probably would have went with a different set up, colors stocks the whole thing.
I just like to build rifles that are different.
I've got a new pic to put up, it's got the new bipod on it.
Bought several thermolds off stingray and did one in the stone color just to see how it looked.
(pretty decent I thought)

Man, that is a great looking gun!!
Did you do any special prep, such as an adhesion promoter, to get the stone finish to stick?

Sweet picture 444.
Rub over it with a light degrease then used a clear adhesion promotor I got from auto-zone.
helps the grey base primer stick to the plastic or polymer parts.
Once the base primer is on finish will stick.Once you've got the coverage you want, just coat it with the clear topcoat sealant and let it cure out over night.

lol, just realized you're the guy who bought my Leupold CQ/T from me

You know, the Leupy would serve you well on the Beo...more so then that Buckridge optic, I hope that's where you plan to install it.

Actually I am building a new flat top that it'll probably go on.(My first post AWB build)

I am actually considering replacing it with on of the LPS leupy's I'm trying to help my brother sell over on the EE. But it's serving it's purpose for now.

Sounds good, I really didn't want to part with that CQ/T, lol...If I hadn't spent as much as I did on sunset toyz I would have kept it. But seeing how it was just sitting in the safe not getting used I couldn't justify holding on to it when there are gun induced bills to pay, haha. Enjoy it and get more use out of it then I did.

Can you measure from the top of the flat top to tne center of the scope.

Curious how much higher the RRA mount is than the Armalite.

yeah I wonder how many people are seeing those post awb credit card bills now and going OMG!!!

It's about 1-5/8" from the flat top to the center of the scope.
I've got another one from j&t and it measures just abot the same.

Hmmm...so where do all these claims about how high the RRA mount come from? And how it's too high to use.

I think the Armalite is 1.4".

I haven't ever heard any body say that.
But I just re-measured to make sure and it's dead on 1-5/8".
If I took the top rail cover off I could mount a 50mm easily and It would be perfect eye level for me.
May just depend on how they put there head/cheek down to sight through it.
I don't know.
