Other than using a stiff piece of plastic and a hammer, is there a specific tool to use to tighten this against the handguard to secure it?

Can you find a castle nut wrench big enough to fit around the nut?

That should just uses a standard AR armorers wrench as long as it has the prongs on one side.

Lol, i totally misread the actual post and only read the title and saw the barrel nut. A spanner wrench is going to be needed for the collar. One thing I used to do if I didn't have one was place the collar where I thought it should be and tighten the rail against it. Not the best method, but still worked for what I needed. |

Thats a YHM rail. A standard wrench can work, just be easy with it.
