Daniel Defense Omega rails would work with the regular delta ring. Midwest Industries makes two part free float handguards, but you have to cut off the delta ring.

DD omega series if you want to keep the OEM Delta ring assembly.
Centurion C4, Midwest industries and maybe Troy if you are fine with cutting the Delta ring and spring with the dremel tool |

In reality, it only takes a $12 barrel nut wrench and a hammer and punch to take them off and then you could put what ever you want on it, not hard to do..

Samson rails will also work with a standard barrel nut, just have to cut off the delta ring assembly.
I have a Samson Star Ex 9 on my AA arms piston upper. |

The handguards that use stock bbl nuts tend to be more expensive and not as good, compared to those that are designed around their own bbl nut. You dont need a top of the line, gunsmith "daily driver" bbl nut wrench for occasional use. |

These are great, i shopped around and got the one with the lower block as a set for about 20 bux. I never really use the lower receiver block, though. |

You can cut down your FSB to make a great LPGB, and your barrel is already notched for the pin. 1) take off moe handguard 2) drive out gas block gas tube pins, remove FH 3) shave FSB to make GB 4) put upper back together with ur rail of choice 4) shoot it If you want to keep the FSB, the FSB cutout rails from DD and Centurion are very cool. |

Shaving a fsb is far from difficult. Same with bbl removal/replacement.

On my only factory rifle, I removed the FSB in order to shave it down. But I just cut the delta ring/spring off with a dremel in about 5 minutes. Didn't need a vice or anything. This was before I starting building and had the appropriate tools. Lacking tools, cutting off the delta ring assembly is pretty simple.
In all honesty, even if I had the tools, I'd probably just dremel it off. That way I don't have to worry about getting the barrel nut off, then torqueing/timing it. 5 mins with a dremel and you're done. |

Unless you're set on an extended rail, I've never understood why someone would chop their FSB. It's the best sight you can have, and it doesn't interfere with magnified optics.
The Omega rail will be free floated and will drop in without modification. |

This build for me is a range gun. Carbine length gas/extended rail with an optic. Everything else I have is fsb. And agreed, fsb is the best sight.
Chopping it made me a little nauseous initially, but I didn't want a set screw lpgb. This is already double pinned. |
