Greetings,

I recently acquired a carbine length KAC RAS w/ 11rib panels as well as couple smaller length panels

The 11rib panels have a smooth texture whereas the smaller length panels have a grittier texture.

My question is whether this is due to a new / used panel, or what else would cause this difference between the two? They're all marked Knights Armament.

All of the ones I've ever used or bought have a matte type surface. There are a lot of airsoft copies floating around too, so that may explain the difference.
