Almost done with a build and went to install a Magpul MOE rifle stock. Am using a rifle length buffer tube. The screw supplied by Magpul only tightens to 1/8" from stock. Tried contacting Magpul and got no reply. Am thinking of just cutting screw down. Any suggestions?

Might need the spacer.  A2 stocks use a spacer on the end of the tube that adds about a half inch to the length of the tube. Just a guess.

From MagPuls site:

•Mounts to rifle-length receiver extension tube without A2 spacer (not included)

ETA: MOE LINK

I would say you have some thread issues on the extension.  Try using the attachment screw without the stock and see if it screws in all the way.

Magpul puts threadlocker on the screws (the blue paint). It makes it extremely difficult to send the screw home. You can try scraping some of that off with a wire brush, then get a quality large screwdriver and send it home.

Thanks--will try it before pulling out the Drimmel. Definitely does not use the A2 spacer.
