So I'm in a nazi state and I need to have a fixed stock on my AR-15.  What do you recommend as the best fixed stock for an AR15 at the moment?

I love a1 stocks. You can get good ones of the EE for $30-40.

For USGI I like A2
Aftermarket, lots of choices if you include pinned collapsibles.

This. You don't have to limit your options to just a few solid or non collapsible stocks. If you prefer a collapsible design, just buy a trigger guard roll pin, drill a 1/8 hole through stock and tube, and pin it yourself. Takes 5 mins, and the pin can be removed if the AWB expires or if you want to adjust the length.  Other than that, I've used ACE stocks and would recommend them.

I agree with this. I'm also in an AWB state (right above you, actually), and I use pinned MOE buttstocks. Even though it sucks to have a tele-stock that you can't actually adjust (because of the pin), it is still better than most fixed stocks, because you can fit it to the position that feels best to you, then pin it for compliance. I kind of like the look of the ACE stock if I was going for a true fixed stock, but haven't actually tried one out yet.

I'm in CT also,  my AR's consist of 3 pre ban and 1 postban build I am doing for my 13 year old.  So far I have an A2 stock from one of my prebans we are going to use for now and ACE full legnth on my Daewoo DR-200's...  My vote goes to the ACE.  I've owned 5-6 living in communist Connecticut and love them.

I just received my LaRue OBR with a PRS, I'm in NY.  Absolutely love the PRS, adjustable to fit but AWB compliant.

I'm a little partial to Sully stocks for my carbines; they can take or dish out a good beating if need be:

The new fixed Magpul has my interest piqued.

Lot of threads on fixed stocks lately, something I've become quite familiar with living in a ban state.    I like stocks shorter than the A1.  Not too many options, but I've tried nearly all of them besides the ACE.  Here are some pictures of the fixed stocks I've tried:  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_12/562372_SOMEBODY_give_us_the_fixed_stock_we_need_.html&page=1#i5389749

Vltor fixed stocks are another option, they have both A1 and A2 length, standard model and clubfoot type model.

They also have storage compartments or just use cheek weld adapters if you prefer a narrower width.

+1 on the Sully stock.  For my utility guns, the Sully is king and built like a brick sh*thouse.
