I'm getting a Bushmaster 16" and I'm stuck between the M4-profile barrel and the heavy barreled version. From your experiences, is the heavy barrel worth the extra weight in terms of added accuracy (if any)? Bushmaster's catalog states that the heavy barrel weighs a little over half a pound more.

You'll likely gain nothing in accuracy. You should end up paying less since the HBAR requires less machining than the M4 bbl though!

The Bushmaster Heavy Barrel is no joke. I have a 11.5" HB that I sent to ADCO to put flutes in it to lighten the load a bit. It works, but still a fat bastard. On the good side....the weight and the Battle Comp should make for a stable platform with no muzzle rise and a loooong time to heat up. The bushy barrels are a good deal for the price.

I don't think you will gain anything in accuracy with the H.
