newbe help!  have a m-4orgery,  would like more velocity and distance but dont know the differences between them for another build.  wanting an SPR TYPE but dont have the funds at present.  want to hurry and make order.  any suggestions or info on the two would be appreciated

this doesnt make any sense, you say you dont have the funds, but want to hurry and make the order.

if you are going for distance, then you want an 18" or 20" barrel

spr is based on an 18" barrel

sorry for the confusion,  the SPR platforms i have looked at are considerably more than the carbine uppers

Unless your M4rgery is a registered short barreled rifle, you have a 16" barrel.  A mid-length has a 16" barrel, the only difference is the for-sight base is positioned out farther on the barrel.  Both will have the same velocity.  In some peoples eyes the midlength is the better choice, as it has a longer sight radius and thus greater accuracy, while still just as short overall and handy as an M4.  It also has the correct gas block to flash hider length, which allows the use of a bayonette and looks a little better to my eye.  But if you want greater velocity, then you should get a 20" upper.

That's because SPR uppers are a specialty item intended for high accuracy - with free float handguards, high grade barrels, etc.
