Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Who makes the best non rail handguards?

I"ve been out of the loop for awhile. Looking for carbine length ( old size, not M4). Need something sturdy for mounting flashlight and VG. CMMG made some of the best 5 or 6 years ago. Any suggestions?

Colt Hand guards are a big cut above the rest.

The CMMG handguards were most likely DPMS.

The Cavalry Arms handguards are great. They are also OEM for a bunch od companies.

Thanks guys.

I never considered Colt ( I usually don't consider factory, they can be so cheap sometimes) but I will check them out.

I will also check out Cav. Arms.

Hey garr,

Could you further explain. Are they thicker, better heat shields, better fit?

I really like my older M4's from CMMG. The fit was tight and they had a good heat shield.
