Get the LMT complete upper.  They run flawlessly.

I'm thinking of trying a JT Dist. 10.5" for an XM177 build...

chrome lined, 5.56mm, true lightweight profile/FSB

just makin' a blaster, but seems like a decent set-up.
any opinions?

180 bux for an ER shaw barrel does not seem expensive...

I wish Bravo Co could come up with a 10.5" as well ..hint hint...

I have the 11.5" barrel shown in the image posted.

With about 300 rounds through it, I fail to see how it is "cheap".  Plenty accurate, excellent fit and finish.

I'd buy another from them.

Per Wes Grant, the very first LMT 10.5's were gov (M4) profile and .630" under the handguard.  My LMT 10.5 (and I believe almost all 10.5's from LMT)  is .737" under the handguard....sort of a medium contour.

I believe Wes sells just the barrels.....best bet is to contact him directly. Go to the MSTN industry forum to get his contact info.

I've got the 10.25" (purchased it as a complete upper from M1S) and have thousands of rounds though it with no problems.  It is "cheap" as in inexpensive, not "cheap" as in shoddy.

If your question truly is "are they worth it?" - then the answer is YES.  If you question is "are they the best", then I cannot answer it, since I do not have experience with LMT, for example.

No and yes.  They would make one in 1/7 if you ordered enough of them.  But model one sales only carrys the 1/9.  You might try contacting them to see if theyc ould order you a 1/7 from ER Shaw, but I doubt they would be interested unless you could prove a ton of people would buy them.
