What's the story on the Rock Island Armory (RIA)/Sendra A1 style lower receivers? Quality? Forged/cast? Value?

Sendra lowers were very desireable in their day, many were converted to full auto

Sendra = Drasen = Nessard = M&A parts

Also, that was the receiver that got the Reese family (Springfield Armory) in trouble with Colt.

The reason, they were in the process of making new M16 (select fire for the El Salvadorian Government) under the Rock Island name. Colt came along and said that they were violating there patent and there was no way they could build the rifle, unless R.I. had a tech data package. R.I.'s defense was that they reversed engineered the weapon, which they didn't, because they actually had a U.S. Ordnance Tech Data Package in their possession.

To make a long story short, they settled out of court and signed an agreement that they'll (the Reese family) will never attempt to make an AR15/M16  rifle/carbine again.
