rra but its a 9mm upper unless you get the dpms which is slightly shorter in height.

Vltor has a new one coming out that offers that option. I don't think its available yet. There was a thread here about it.....

The on I remember Looked exactly like a standard flattop upper but just withouth the forward assist. The upper from Vltor looks like it has been milled.

DPMS and Rock River Arms. DPMS only has on without both the case deflector and forward assist and RRA has all of them with a foward assist and case deflector. That is at least what there web pages show.

Les Baer sells a flat top upper without the forward assist for about $125 the last time I checked, but I think it has the shell deflector.

What you have been seeing is DPMS low pro. Brownells, Delton, Midway all have them.
