That is a thing of beauty. What is the difference does a krink break have over a standard FS? Or better stated, what properties does it have that makes it more useful on some (or any) weapons than standard FS?

These are my questions as well. Also, what's the overall length? Is it long enough to make Noveske's 12.5" Crusader barrel a 16" barrel when perm-attached? That would make me all kinds of hot and bothered. The Noveske Krink is .25" short, but yours looks to be longer than Noveske's... |

Yeah, by gosh, we don't want any COMPETITION in the AR15 market! We want to keep our single name brand source of items we like so the demand is high, supply is moderate, and prices are set accordingly! Thanks for the options CMMG! P.S. - Do keep in mind that the "Noveske" version is not their original design either... |

The one pictured is. Pricing would be good on the CMMG so we'll see and it is great to see other expanding on ideas that have definitely caught on with other products out there. Also, a different front mount needs to be offered. That evil tooth version isn't that appealing.... to me at least. |

For a 16inch I don't think the Krink is worth the extra cost above a Phantom, but on SBR's, I feel it is justified. It aids greatly in the function and don't forget the sound reductions on the shorter barrels. After shooting with, then without my Krink on a 10.5 and 11.5, I am a BELIEVER. Honestly, I don't see the point with a 16in barrel but to each his own

On short barreled rifles it directs the blast forward and away from the shooter, it helps control the blast to the sides as well which can be a PITA for the guy right next to ya. |

We will have pricing after shot show. The ones made are prototypes. There are going to be a couple of material changes. In addition we will be getting costs nailed down on chroming the inside of the housing as well as the entire cone.

Sharp end towards bad guy, depress trigger.
Don't know that I would want that pointy Krink on a CQB gun that I would be jumping out of a Humvee with, might catch on stuff. Pretty sure that CMMG will probably offer it with 2 different types of end cap so you can choose pointy or smooth. Kinda like getting the different bezels for a surefire flashlight. |

Offer a total of 4 part numbers. The first two items are the Krink with a smooth cap and then with a pointy cap. The last two part numbers are replacement pointy and smooth caps. Now guys can buy exactly the version they want to start and the other cap later if they want. |

A patent pending does not mean it's an original design. You can patent a rock and claim patent pending for a year. Someone will be quick to come along and mention that rocks have existed since before man and invalidate the patent. I have not seen Noveske's patent application, but if it's similar to past Krinkov designs, the patent is weak and CMMG could easily challenge it. Now if the patent were on some element of the design that is orignial, that could hold. CMMG's Krink design would just need to stay clear of that particular feature, or buy the rights to use that feature. "Patent Pending" is just a scare tactic phrase you can use for a year from the date you submit your patent until they actually issue it. Even with a patent in-hand, it's only as strong as the proof of the fact you have an original design. |

I have never submitted patents myself, but my day job company has done some. My understanding is that almost every patent is accepted/granted as submitted and that it's up to the person doing the submission to have thouroughly researched it himself so he does not overlap other patents and to be sure he can defend it. That's what you pay your patent attorney for... It still depends a lot on what features John's patent is for whether CMMG would be infringing. As the patent is still pending, you usually keep in under wraps until the dust settles. |
