After seeing this thread by MSTN... ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=264654

I was wondering......

If I had a 16" barrel cut down - and permanently attached a noveske/krink brake to keep it 16" legal,
what freefloat could I use to minimize the amount of barrel that shows?

Would a 12" FF look good?,  Would it be better to use a 2 piece FF ?

TIA

Since its only about looks, do what ever you like

Well , I would want it to look nice and not cobbled up.

But MAINLY I want the shortest NON NFA barrel I can get - and the Noveske/Krink brake
to keep the Muzzle Blast away from MY ears.

After i got the info I was thinking of asking if your shop could do the work

13.65" is the barrel length, I've done more than a few for customers.
You may want to try one out on a 16" OAL set up before you drop the coin.
IMO, its a waste of money to drop over $150 on something that is no more than a half pound of muzzle weight  on a non NFA barrel.
They work great on the short barrels they were designed for.

Now THAT'S customer service!

What about a 14.5" barrel and the muzzle device of your choosing (vortex, YHM, etc.) with a LaRue 13.2" forend on it?  If my math is correct (and it seldom is) there's not going to be much barrel at all showing that way.  If a 9.0 leaves only muzzle device showing on a 10.5" barrel, then a 13.2" should do the same with a 14.7" barrel.

The basic ingredients, IIRC...

Noveske 13.6" "Infidel" barrel
Noveske KX3
LaRue 13.2 FF HG
LaRue Low Profile Gasblock

Add a gastube of your choice, pin and weld the KX3, and work from there.
