My stainless steel match grade barrels run $375.
Yes, that's certainly $80 more, BUT you can get ANY twist, ANY length, ANY profile, ANY special configuration like dual gas block seats for building an SPR type setup with a hidden gas block and a flip-up front sight out in front of a rifle length handguard.
Did I mention ANY muzzle thread spec so you can put a suppressor on it that you happen to own for your other gun?
Did I mention that YOU can specify the headspace you want?
Precision reloaders might want a chamber that does not beat up brass while most guys want a chamber on the long end of specs like a 5.56 chamber for the added reliability.
That $80 is not so bad when you think about it that way now is it?
