Great idea.

It's a Bushy 1/9 barrel I got for an upper project years ago, before I realized I really didn't like 20" barrels
I sitll think it's too long, an 18" barrel would look awesome here, but I wanted to use as many already-in-house left over parts as possible.  The Colt M4 upper receiver I got from Brownells was stripped (unbeknownst to me ), I got the big Colt round forward assist and ejection port cover parts from an old Colt A2 upper receiver.  Barrel, gas tube, PRI steel gas block, bolt carrier/bolt, charging handle and flash suppressor I already have gathering dust somewhere, so out of pocket expense was about $400 for this upper

The 12" DD handguard is very nice, it came with three ladder type rail covers, I used one of them on the bottom and KAC rail covers on the sides to create a somewhat round shape, I never quite got used to DD's oval handguard profile.
I'm a KAC fan and would have got an FF RAS Long, but they're harder to come by

I do have Colt barrels, they had all found homes

Swapped out the 20" barrel for a light weight 14.5", and the Colt A2 stock was replaced by Magpul's PRS (from Victor)

The PRS's adjustable cheekweld isn't forward enough, so either I do what ADCO had done to shorten it, or move the D740 back and foresake the rear backup sight.  Once the cheekpiece is raised, iron sights become hard to get to, so I just removed it altogether

Looking good, Duffy.

I junked the idea of building another MRP in favor of a SPR and that, hopefully, will be the rifle for a D760/740 I'll buy in the near future.

Lol I dunno, we don't get to train in the rain and mud often enough I reckon, if we lived in WA it'd see more real world usage, but not sure if they got mud in WA
