Looks great!  What receiver block are you using to mount the receiver in the vise?  Did you need to use the strap wrench to tighten down the Noveske?

If one was to permanently attach the KX3, would it make the barrel the legal (i.e. 16")?

ETA: Nice pics!

how much would an upper like that cost?
also does your strap wrench have the fabric strap or rubber? i tried using the rubber one and it never worked for me.

great choice in torque wrench

Wes,

I don't want to start anything but, how are the 12" barrels compared to the 10.5"or 14.5" as far as velocity?  Yes, I am aware these are very new but, I'm sure some one has tested them...

Looks to be a very nice in-between length.

Pat Rogers had a 12.5 when I took a class from him in May.  The velocity should be right between the 10.5 and the 14.5, and the reliability much more consistent than the CQB-R.

Someday I shall own a 12.5.

What is the price?  If John can cut two out of one blank they should be 270.  Otherwise, 370.  That's a prettty big difference.

MSTN, I am going to be installing a LaRue 7.0 next week on my LMT upper when it comes in the mail. I would like to know do you always use a Tokque wrench  and how much pounds of tokque do you use on the barrel nut?

PRECISION REFLEX UPPER RECEIVER BLOCK. THIS ONE IS DESIGNED FOR THE AR-15 ON ONE SIDE AND THE AR-10 ON THE OTHER. THEY MAKE ANOTHER THAT IS FOR THE AR-15, RIGHT SIDE UP, ON ONE SIDE, AND UPSIDE DOWN ON THE OTHER.

That is so kickass.  Should I be worried that I've reached a point that AR-related tools fascinate me as much as AR's themselves?

Wes I am going to be selling my M962 series soon and am thinking of replacing it someday with the exact light setup you have pictured above.  I'm using the exact same setup as you (CQD VFG and Larue rails) and was wondering how the thumb reach is on yours?

Stick- that was meant as a joke
On a more serious note, has anyone ever chronoed one of these? If the same velocity increases are reported for the 12.5s as for the 10.5s, we have a serious little spitball shooter here.

FORGIVE ME FOR STATING THE OBVIOUS, BUT I CAN'T RESIST: IN BETWEEN THE TWO.

ME, I'M LIKING THE 12.5" LENGTH, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT ALLOWS THE LARUE 12.0 TO COVER THE WHOLE DANG BARREL. LOOKS RATHER FETCHING WITH THE KX3, AS WELL, IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF.

Yeah, life is rough sometimes!  Is there a way that you could split the difference and go with an 11.5"?

10.5 is good for getting in and out of vehicles and tight spaces.....12.5 gives me almost the same size with a veloc. boost and the plus of being able to mount the SF can which is the next addition to it..........12.5 and 10.5 are both "stock" sizes that JN crank out.........relly want to see a JN 12.5 with a convetional sized flash suppresor (A2, Vortex, phantom) sitting in a 9.0 Larue...............maybee somebody will grant me my wish...................Then LW has to go and do something silly like mount them in the piston upper which looks really slick..................

We built it, and now I love it!
