apparently there's a new version out now. I have the older version I guess. Where it's smooth looking decagon or something like that.

As I undrstand it, the new version is simply different looking. Function is the same.
I remember reading something that the new design was made to allow for the use of a strap wrench more effectively. |

ya, mine must be the new non-dodecagon one. There were also some differences in my rail vs. their pic as my rail has the laser etched T-markings and well as where they printed the words daniel defense.

 This is a picture of the previous one. The latest one is pretty much the same with the addition of some notches in th lock ring to allow the use of a special spanner wrench for install. |
