Why is it that every set of M4 handguards I get are "loose" where they meet each other?   There is a gap along the seam where the upper and lower handguard meet.  It just feels loose when you hold the gun, I dont like the extra play.

I just got yet another set from the EE, and this one has long slots/grooves where the top and bottom meet.  All of the others that I have use a male/female post and hole.  Any idea who makes a good M4 handguard (double insulated) that will be as tight a fit as my original Bushmaster carbine handguards?

I think he means plastic, non-railed.

Might try the DPMS Glacier Guard too.  Never used them, just played around w/ them a bit on a demo gun.  Felt quite sturdy, and I haven't heard too much negative commentary on them.  Just my .02.

As a cosmetic fix to what you have right now, try putting a small strip of bike inner tube on your handguard cap. Wedge it in between the handguard cap and your handguards. See if it does the trick and,  if,  you like it.

okay all.  how 'bout this.  the YH FF customizable rifle on a 16" barrel.  i know with collapsible stock it's front heavy, but i'm using a sportweight barrel and cutting it the front sight post down to a gas block.  the YH is inexpensive compared to DDefense and others.  What gives?  anyone with experience...  i'm thinking of a full top & bottom rail, but just 4 inchers on each side to keep the width down.

I have some of the non-Colt, single shielded M4 HGs from BravoCompany.  They came on my buddy's LMT upper for free when he ordered it.  He gave them to me the other day since I put his rifle together when he found out was looking to take my RAS of my LMT upper.  They fit nice and tightly, ZERO play at all.


The YHM tube is going to be HEAVY.  Also, I've heard rumor of the removable rails not being in spec.
