Saw a pic of one a few days ago, does anyone have pics of the new DD barrel nut?
TIA

All I know is that it is just a redesign.  Apparently it does nothing the older nut did (as in it does not lock like a LaRue).

Quoted:
If you mean for the regular free float (non-monolithic), it is a small design change on the lock nut to allow the use of a DD special spanner wrench - instead of a strap wrench.
I think JTAC had some pics of it.

So the change is to the locking ring and not the barrel nut?

This is the one I got about a month ago.

I knew about the T marks but was surprised with the locking ring redesign.

so does the wrench come with the rail or have to be purchased seperately?

or can the stock spanner wrenches be used?

The ring looks too big for a stock spanner wrench,  IMO.

I'd be interested in trying one of these sometime soon.

So what's the point in redesigning the locking ring if a strap wrench works better than the wrench to be used with it?  Seems to me the old multi-faceted locking ring would offer more friction, and therefore easier to tighten
