old M4? whatever variation of ARit is, is only legally owned by you in CA if your name in on the papers filed with the state back in 2000. be carefull

An "assault weapon" cannot be transferred in California. Whoever filed the original paperwork to register it is the ONLY owner it can have. It must be surrendered upon the death of the registered owner.
