Yes, mine is also grey with the standard LMT M4 stock.
I wish also that it's black like my other Vltor tube. My lower was made last July. |

Mine also.
 Called LMT....they said it was milspec. I swapped a Vltor black tube to the SOPMOD. HA! If you're going to drop $$$, it should be black or any other color you want. And used the grey tube for my Bushy/Vltor combo. |

Does it have the "grooves" going down the outside of the tube (the one with the 3 drain holes in the latch pin recesses)? I wonder if they make two different tubes, depending on what LMT stock you are using.

Grey to match the Colt and or FN lower it was designed to go on. If you don't like it, think moly resin.

This is normal. They treat them so they have some lubricity which makes them that color. C4 |

My tube with the standard M4 stock doesn't have any grooves outside of the tube. But I noticed the three drain holes in the last back end latch pin recesses which my Vltor buffer tube don't have. |

LMT uses a Mil dry film lube on their tubes.
