Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 2-piece or 1-piece rail system?

I am looking for a rail system for my Colt AR-6721.  In my research I see that they are offered in either a 1-piece or 2-piece system.  Are there any disadvantages to the 2-piece systems, ie stability, looseness over time and is it a true free float system.  Any advice on quality brands of either type would be greatly appreciated.
