That is some serious flutes on the SDM barrel, bet it is still heavier then the SPR barrel though.

Yup, built on Colt M4 uppers, so its a requirement. The Army is under contract I believe to use Colt parts?



10-4, thanks bigbore. I just remember 1SGA's posts on the SDM, he stated the rifle in his pictures started out as FNMI M16A2. Maybe it was just that one example. Is that SPR barrel for sale?

Are those stainless extensions? I thought extensions were supposed to be made out of a special steel like bolts.
