I just bought a new 16" A3 M4 upper from Model1Sales and really like it.   Trouble is, I already have one and I've decided I would like a change.

Assuming I replace the FSB with a shaved gas block, is it possible to install a rifle length FF tube on the 16" barrel?  If so, are there any special cinsiderations to keep in mind?  I intend to place a flip-up FS on the top rail to go along with the rear ARMS 40.

If someone has done this, do you have any pics of the final product?

Sure, as long as the gas block fits under the tube, it's fine.

Hey, thanks for the help.

Any particular gas block/FF rail combos that just won't work together.  Which combo of gas block and FF rail work best?

I recommend looking at the PRI low-pro gas block.  Knights also makes one about 40% more expensive.

The 6.8SPC upper MSTN built for me has a mid-length gas system with the PRI gsa block under a full rifle-length PRI GenIII float tube.

Hey Spooky, what magwell adapter is that, and what mags does it use?

I don't know what block it is, but I believe it uses uncut Uzi mags.

Looks like a VM Hy-Tech.

Correct - it is a VM Hy Tech, and uses unmodified Uzi mags (IMI are golden, some others are a bit tight).  Shoots pretty good but I'm thinking about putting an EoTech on it...

There is a thred floating around that states it is hard (not ipossible) to use the LaRue rifle length tube, b/c you can't do the gas system first.

I can tell you that Using a SPR type block requires a bit of clearence work on the bolck to clear the DD tube,...
