Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Carbon-15 Pistols, different upper receiver?

Hello,
I've been lurking here a bit but this is my first post.  This appears to be a well informed group so I'm hoping you can help me out.  I'm looking to buy a carbon-15 pistol but want to run a longer barrel than the 7.25 it comes with.  Somebody told me that it's not possible to run any of the bushmaster "rifle" barrels because the upper receivers are not the same so the pistols won't accept them.  Can anyone verify or disprove that statement?  Anyone have some specifics about this?

Also, is it not possible to fit ARMS SIR or similar forearms to these because of the difference in upper receiver?
