Between Sept 13 1994, and Sept 13 2004  a postban upper could not have a bazonet lug, threaded brl, or flash supressor.  They typically had ether a crowned muzzle, or permanantly attached muzzle break.

So, your saying that, when I get my barrel threaded tomorrow with a f/s installed. It would be "almost pre-ban" .....cool

One more thing... I have a 20" crowned barrel, would I have any trouble threading it or putting a F/S on it?

I'm going to get it done today... You think there would be problem threading a post ban barrel?

What it the diameter of a pre ban threaded barrel vs a post ban crowned, looks like the post ban has a wider diameter. Whould the barrel have to be cut down?

Are you doing it yourself, or taking it to a smith?

Taking it to a gunsmith. He going to charge me $65, does that sound fair?
