Hey Wes, took a combative carbine class last week here in Tucson from Jeff Gonzalez from Trident Concepts. There was a cop from NC that had the same 10.5 LMT upper and LMT BUIS on his M4 that I had. He shot 2nd best without optics on his rig. Jeff was very impressed with the setup. I forgot to ask if the cop got his rig from you, but go figure two 10.5 uppers with the same buis on two guys from opposite sides of the country. Great minds must think alike By the way, nice rig.

That barrel looks longer than normal when wearing a 12.0 forearm...

Wes, did you pick the parts or did the shooter?  Any reason for each particular piece?

Spooky

Probably because of the low-profile gas block and the Vortex FS.

Wes, that is freaking incredable!

I'm just happy I closed on the details of my next upper build from Wes (which is all of the above except barrel, scope, FS, and rear BUIS). This is enough to drive you nuts!

Edited: Forgot, different FS & typo

Hi Wes,

that's a masterpiece , as usual from you , congrats.

The only thing I can say is that I find the NXS to be just a little bit bulky, heavy and also redundant for such baby.

I had one NXS 3.5-15X50 mil-dot on my SPR , nowday I switched it to the MR/T M3 , I find this one better suited for one 5.56 marksman rifle .

True that I was able to do better shots group with the NXS , but I suppose this kind of baby is not tasked for bench rest , is not it ?

ciao,

I don't think rear flip up scope covers work very well with the Nightforce optics.  Look closely.

OK.......I used to teach Observation to 8541 wannabees almost two decades ago.  Now in the second pic I see gaps under the objective and ocular bells that a good student could stalk through.

Yes, I am almost two decades older and have three daughters.......two of which are teenagers.  Yepper, that might be my problem.........and three glasses of Merlot.

I don't know how it is on the new NXS's, but on the 5.5-22x56mm NXS, the rear objective rotates when the power is adjusted.  This does not work well with flip-up covers.

That is the only rifle Wes has put together that I don't crave. Wes is a master at making not only great looking weapons, buy ones the shoot all day long.

I truly admire his work, and respect his opinions.
