Thankyou for re-posting Gavin70. I am interested to see where this project goes. I hope it does not turn into an OICW or SPIW or most importantly an ACR. The original solicitation (SCAR CIRCA 2003)posted some great requirements (optimal). From an engineering standpoint it would be wonderfull to see what entry gets chosen and hopefully be benefical to the end users.

Wasn't HipFiredGun supposed to "let the cat out of the bag" on this one?

It's not up to me - it's down to the companies concerned and at this stage, I presume that they are not ready to release details.

Just a wild guess, but the '05 SHOT Show would be a likely time to release anything concerning SCAR project protos, especially if commercial spin-offs are in the eventual offing. Rumors about LMT's entry have me chomping a bit. Colt may or may not be interested in commercial applications, but there's always a chance. Maybe a photo or 2 before the end of the year is all we can look forward to.

That’s my take on the civilian side too. Thanks to ARMS and their silly protest, we (civilians) would probably all be benefiting as we speak (from the rejected offerings)!

I'm hoping for DD myself

Rumors?  I figured LMT submitted the MRP.

I've heard rumor of a piston/op rod MRP version, either as their SCAR candidate, or maybe it'll simply be a future product offering.
