Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rock Island uppers, any good?

    I ran across a local gun smith who said he had a stripped rock island flat top upper receiver for $75, first off I have not heard of rock island before, and I was wandering about 3 things,

1. are they cast or forged
2. is it worth the $75.00
3. are they any good

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They're just fine; the equivelent of any other major manufacturer's. $75 is a good price, too.

Rock River just got a contract to supply rifles to the DEA, so you can be sure they build good stuff

They're strictly forged.  Only Olympic and DPMS are still selling cast anything (lowers)any more.
